Keith Burton, owner and manager of Burton Racing, began his career driving and wrenching at Russell Racing School, where he led the mechanics’ class. From there he transitioned to the Barber Dodge Pro Series, winning the Valvoline Mechanic of the Year award in his second season. When the phone rang Keith welcomed the opportunity to advance and act as chief mechanic on a front running Toyota Atlantic Series car. With endless determination and hard work to fulfill his dreams, Keith was later given opportunities to work with two thriving Champ Car and Indy Racing League Teams. While working with these teams and drivers, Keith received the Rookie Mechanic of the Year award his first year in Champ Cars.

Moving to Indianapolis and the opportunity to compete at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway didn’t come any too soon. Keith fully embraced the chance to work under the guidance of Barry Green and on the car of Michael Andretti. Later, he won two Indy Car Championships and the Indianapolis 500 for a total of 42 career wins. Today many of the drivers that Keith has worked with can be found competing in F1, Indy Cars, Nextel Cup, Rolex Sports Cars, Grand Am and ALMS.

Having worked through the ladder system of racing, Keith has the knowledge and experience at all levels of racing to bring success to up-and-coming drivers and crew members while promoting sponsors in a professional setting. Keith has experience promoting sponsors as diverse as Avista Base Oils, KOOL, Pioneer, MCI-WorldCom, Motorola, Archipelago/ NYSE, Jim Beam, Klein Tools, 7-11, XM Satellite Radio, Point to Point Graphics, Lincoln Electric, Gatorz Precision Eyewear, Kirby Risk, Impact Racing, Silicon Salvage and manufacturers such as Acura, Chevrolet, Dodge, Ferrari, Ford, Honda Performance Development, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota Racing Development.

In 2006 Keith made a tough decision, to depart from his ultimate passion, as lead mechanic and pit crew member on a front running Indy Car team and form his own racing program. Starting from scratch Keith has worked diligently and built Burton Racing LLC. Now in its fourth year of competition, Burton Racing is looking forward to winning races and championships and helping develop the drivers of tomorrow.
